JOB SUMMARY:

Guardian of Quality and Compliance by Design following the quality requirements and deliverables for Fremont’s Nestlé Development Center (NDC) led Innovation/Renovation projects. This position is the quality representative for multi-category projects as assigned. They will be responsible for the creation of HACCP and Quality monitoring pieces for new products/technology development to ensure full compliance with Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory requirements. It will also provide technical assistance to Nestle Nutrition factories, co-manufacturers and application groups regarding Quality topics as required.

Additional responsibilities are to support the Nestle Management System by being part of the Internal Audit Team, support Pilot Plant HACCP team and promote continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promotes quality and food safety awareness in the NDC. Contributes to competence development of quality professionals across the organization by providing training and awareness related to Nestle Standards, Nestle/NDC Quality processes and GMPs.

Quality Project Mastership: Project team member engaged in NDC Innovation / Renovation projects assuring Quality function inception to launch deliverables throughout project stages.

Perform Food Safety Assessments and develop new product/technology projects, including support to factories for implementation

Ensure Quality and Food Safety technical knowledge transfer to operations through engagement, training and handover of projects. Provides training to all functions which need to have an insight into quality and safety, and which need to implement quality and safety in their own job deliverables.

Provides support for NDC Pilot Plant Quality and participates in site compliance activities including internal audit. 

Embraces and leverages digital solutions and platforms to enable speed and accuracy.  Seeks to find or develop new digital solutions to enhance the output of the role to ensure we maintain a competitive advantage

Quality auditing and verification: Member of the Internal Audit Team, responsible for auditing processes and areas according to the Internal Audit Plan.  Support visits from regulatory bodies, such as FDA or USDA, and external certification bodies.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required; (preferred food science/microbiology related)

Operational Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in food industry in quality, R&D or manufacturing areas

Demonstrated Competence in their field to support business requirements

HACCP experience

ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certification is preferred

Ingredient specifications

Experience with quality by design

Participation/leading new product development project teams is preferred

Participating in audit teams and/or improvement projects with more senior staff members

Establishing networks of peers, in markets or factories

Ability to communicate at all levels

Excellent organizational skills
