The Role

Reporting to the General Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Fitter is a member of the Engineering Team, who will provide technical services to the engineering department by performing maintenance of machinery, equipment and services on site to meet site objectives. The Maintenance Fitter will also purse mechanical maintenance improvements and drive a high-quality culture and standard. This is a day shift role, working Monday to Friday however some after hours on call work may be required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventative maintenance according to site requirements
  • Troubleshoot machines and equipment by making assessments of problems and estimating duration of time to repair
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and take corrective action promptly
  • Report production or machine problems and issues through the defect handling systems
  • Use of MEX, PM check sheets, schematic drawings, technical manuals etc.
  • Demonstrate an exemplary safety ethic and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the plant
  • Other duties as requested by the General Maintenance Supervisor
  • Willingness to particiapte in on call roster for after hours breakdowns as required

About You

  • Trade Qualification – Maintenance Fitter, advanced certificate welcomed
  • Previous experience in fault finding automated machinery
  • A good understanding of Mechanical systems, motors, pumps, conveyors, compressors and air systems
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Ability to manage changing priorities
  • Capacity to work autonomously
  • Strong safety focus
