OVERVIEW

Lauren Services is currently looking for an Engineering Intern, Co-op Student/New-Grad to work with our engineers.  This is a paid internship/co-op.  The objective is to give students enrolled in 2nd-4th year or recently graduated in the field of engineering.  Successful interns will be able to give back to their communities directly or join the workforce with additional experience to aid in the success of their careers.



ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently in pursuit of an Engineering Bachelor’s degree or recently graduated in Engineering 
  • Some knowledge of engineering requirements of oil and gas, renewables
  • General knowledge of oil and gas practices and specifications
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software + Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position
  • Engineering student with no more than one academic year remaining before earning a degree preferred, these students are typically seniors. Contingent upon a positive performance review, a successful intern may receive an offer of employment as an intern, co-op student or registered Engineer In Training. 

SKILLS

  • Must possess engineering skills and be capable of interacting with all engineering disciplines
  • Being familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices, etc. is an asset
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers, project managers, site managers and clients
  • Being familiar with or have working knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is an asset.
