The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools office acts as an intermediate service agency between the California Department of Education and the 33 school districts in San Bernardino County to help meet the educational needs of all children county-wide. Job Summary
The Academic Counselor meets with At-Promise students to provide academic counseling and guidance requirements. The Academic Counselor assists in identifying and resolving educational concerns, including adjusting to school and community life and completing the college/Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) application process. The Academic Counselor advises students on their educational program, citizenship, scholastic, and vocational aspirations.

Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Possession of a valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) – School Counseling Credential;
• Two (2) years of experience working with students in an alternative education setting;
• Two (2) years providing academic, vocational, employment, and/or related services for youths.
