The Staff Accountant prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Assist with monthly close process, including journal entry preparation and review
  • Perform and/or review account reconciliations (including Shadow Accounts) and ensure all contain appropriate supporting documentation
  • Evaluate trends, identifies and investigates unusual or unexpected account variances
  • Assist with requests/documentation related to external and internal audits and preparation of annual audit report
  • Perform other accounting research and duties, as needed
  • Maintain and promote positive interaction with internal and external customers/partners and provide prompt, accurate service
  • Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
  • Develop and maintain good communication skills with various levels within the company
  • Review the fixed asset ledger in SAP for both book and tax purposes, proper depreciable life assignments and working with other departments to ensure proper capitalization procedures and asset tracking/documentation
  • Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and capital authorization forms for recording fixed assets
  • Serve as the Accounting focal point for all fixed asset accounting matters 
  • Record fixed asset and right of use asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
  • Prepare and review monthly fixed asset roll forwards and reporting prior to final review by management
  • Lead Fixed Asset verification process with all the sites
  • Participate in the annual business financial planning process


  • Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Working knowledge of SAP strongly preferred
  • A team player that continues to gain knowledge with a successful track record of meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency, identifying and resolving issues, researching and providing overall accounting support
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
  • Solid time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to envision and implement process improvements
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude
