POSITION:    OSP/EOF Recruitment Coordinator- PROFESSIONAL SERVICES SPECIALIST 4

SALARY:       p18- $55,142.18- $88,214.84

LOCATION:  Opportunity Scholarship Program/ EOF

 

Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director, the OSP/EOF recruiter develops and implements a recruitment plan for initial year OSP/EOF scholars.

Responsibilities:           

  • Develops relationships with high school counselors, pre-college program staff (i.e. Gear Up, Upward Bound, TRiO), community colleges, college transfer counselors, community organizations, and influencers to generate inquiries and increase awareness of OSP/EOF.

     

  • Produces, revises, and distributes the OSP marketing materials to school counselors, the campus community, and members of external community organizations.
  • Develops a high school visitation schedule with the Admissions Office recruiters assigned to target regions.         
  • Conducts recruitment visitations to high schools and community organizations in target regions.
  • Participates in NJCU’s recruitment events, such as Open House, Instant Decision Days, New/Transfer Student Orientation and Ambassador training events.
  • Plans, coordinates, and participates in OSP initial year recruitment, screening, and onboarding to ensure the timely establishment of an OSP eligible population prior to the start of the OSP Summer Academy.
  • Provides initial year scholars with referrals to campus and community resources, as needed.
  • Creates and administers a recruitment training workshop to integrate OSP staff into the initial year orientation/interview process.
  • Consults with Admissions, Financial Aid, Health & Wellness Center, and Residence Life staff to identify strategies to enhance the OSP recruitment and onboarding process for incoming scholars.
  • Trains and supervises clerical and student assistants to conduct recruitment and onboarding functions including financial aid follow up, submission of required medical documents, and campus housing applications.
  • Develops a communication plan comprising of mail, text, and phone campaigns to prospective scholars and families to convert applicants to enrolled students in the OSP Summer Academy.
  • Coordinates Summer Academy Parent/Family Orientation for accepted students.
  • Assists counselors with transitioning OSP summer students who determine their local community colleges to be a better fit at the time of separation.
  • Assists Financial Aid staff and OSP program assistant with completion of OSP initial year freshmen financial aid verification process.
  • Conducts research to identify profiles of initial year OSP cohort.
  • Collects information on inquiries for entry into the lead-management system, and tracks them through the stages of interview, application, admit, and enroll.
  • Assesses recruitment efforts and makes recommendations for its improvement.

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in psychology, marketing, or a related field required. Enrollment in a master’s degree program preferred.

Requirements: Minimum two (2) years recruitment experience, preferably within higher education. Demonstrated experience developing rapport with students and families to support them in the college selection, onboarding, and transition process.                                            

SKILLS: Experience working with students from backgrounds with limited access to academic and economic resources. Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate with stakeholders, and computer literacy with standard office applications.
