Toray Advanced Composites (TAC) is a leading supplier of advanced composite materials for the aerospace, sporting goods, motor sport and industrial markets. You will find our thermoset composite products on nearly every satellite, space launch vehicle, unmanned aircraft, military and commercial aircraft in production today. TAC also provides composites materials to industrial and recreational applications including mountain bikes, medical prosthetics and sports equipment.

Our thermoplastic prepregs, known in the industry as Cetex®, are found in a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, including large wing structures and interior applications like seats and galleys.  Our Cetex products are available in unidirectional tape or fabric form in a variety of engineered thermoplastic resins including PEEK, PPS, PEI as well as a full line of performance thermoplastics including Nylon, PET, PC/ABS, HDPE, and PP.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for provide oversight to the Quality Lab when needed for development of testing material, ability to read and understand the technical information and specifications & create reports. The Quality Engineer II will participate quality metrics, design, and production certification plans. Please note roles and responsibilities are subject to change with or without advance notice.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and TAC Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participate analysis, tests, and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. 
  • Analyses non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends and develop corrective actions to address non-conformances. 

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A technical bachelor’s degree (i.e. Engineer, Material Science, Chemistry) is preferred or approximately 3-5 years applicable work experience and demonstratable proficiency at the major duties above.   
  • 3-5 year of experience working in quality ideally with composites manufacturing
  • Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbally) in English
  • Able to work and communicate with multiple teams  
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner
  • Follow safety procedures for PPE (personal protection equipment)

 

Salary:  $80,000 - $115,000
