Position Summary

The Quality Control Analyst performs routine testing on combined board (corrugated fiberboard) produced by Corrugated Supplies Company; performs routine testing on raw materials (liner and medium) from our suppliers; takes lead in running and testing trials for new board and paper grades; works directly with our Alsip MiniMill to ensure they are making a quality product. The long term goal would be to get acclimated in the company through this position and develop a path that most suits your skillset for the future. Accountability is exercised through weekly management team meetings to discuss issues, establish workload priorities, and get direction.

The annualized good faith base salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, applicable certifications, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Company.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States. This role is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

The position is 100% on-site at the Bedford Park, IL facility. Relocation assistance is not available.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures the monthly requirements of testing on random samples of combined board as well as raw materials are satisfied.
  • Takes the lead in organizing and running trials on the corrugators, tests the trial material and completes a test report showing the results.
  • Analyzes test data to observe trends, highlight poor quality, and find opportunities to improve our products.
  • Involved with routine meetings/conference calls with the Alsip MiniMill to discuss quality, performance, and trials.
  • Occasionally will test samples of converted product from our customers to verify quality specifications are met.
  • Works with our customers when they run into issues with quality.
  • Completes and sends out certificate of compliance forms for our customers’ certified orders.

 

Desired Skills:

  • University degree or college diploma is strongly preferred but not required;
  • Prior work experience in the work industry is preferred, but not required;
  • Strong math, computer, and organizational skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills; a form of customer service background is preferred
  • Professional, courteous and positive manner;
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple task functions simultaneously.

Language Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
