The Payroll Clerk shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 Compute and input weekly commission, validate hours, and run reports. Validate new employee and payroll related information, prepare weekly and monthly reports, input schedules provided by managers, and other tasks required by management.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Input weekly payroll into a 3rd party payroll system, specifically ADP.
  • Validate and input new employees and payroll changes.
  • Communicate payroll information to plant and branch location managers.
  • Report (as needed) employee hours to appropriate departments.
  • Stay compliant with company payroll policies.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual payroll related reports.
  • Comply with any payroll related audits.
  • Field and answer calls from employees and other parties regarding payroll and employment verification questions.
  • Track new employee PTO and other related information using excel spreadsheets and ADP
  • Help keep Drivers DOT compliant

 

 

Required Technical Skills:

  • Computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with ADP Time and Workforce Now software.
  • Proficiency with a ten-key calculator.
  • Previous experience with data entry.
  • Ability to have good phone etiquette and professionalism.
  • DOT qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented

 

Educations, Certifications and Experience:

 

The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:

  • Knowledge of ADP platform.
  • Experience working with a union environment.

 

The following qualifications are required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll operations.
  • Proficient with computers and MS Office. Strong Excel skills 


 

Other:

 

The Payroll Administrator is an hourly role and reports to the Office Manager.

 Standard hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; 40 hr work week
