Key Responsibilities
- Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of Aurora’s models. You’ll help design and implement scalable, maintainable code, champion modern software engineering practices, and play a key role in delivering high-quality, data-driven insights.
- We’re looking for individuals with strong technical capabilities, proven reliability, and a track record of leadership in team-based settings.
- Rigorous training in our modelling methodologies and energy markets
- Hands-on contributions to some of the most sophisticated energy market models in the industry
- Direct involvement in live client projects as a technical modelling expert
What We Look For
- A strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Economics
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and analytical thinking ability
- The ability to gather, interpret, and work with complex quantitative data
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g. Python [preferred], C++, MATLAB, R, or Java)
- A relevant Master’s degree or PhD
- Strong interest in energy markets and a belief in the value of well-designed models to support better decision-making
- Advanced proficiency in Python programming
- Knowledge of statistical methods and/or mathematical optimisation techniques
