A. Monday - Friday: 430 pm - 12 am
B. Monday - Friday: 12 am - 7 am (Overnight)
C. Weekends(Sat & Sun): 7am - 7pm
D. Weekends(Sat & Sun): 7 pm - 7 am (Overnight)
Job Summary:
The Guard Shack Attendant at the cotton-seed oil mill is responsible for maintaining security and controlling access to the facility. The role involves monitoring and recording vehicle and personnel entry, checking credentials, inspecting deliveries, and ensuring safety and security protocols are followed. This position plays a key role in protecting the facility, its employees, and its assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Access Control:
- Maintain a log of all incoming and outgoing traffic, including the time of entry/exit, vehicle information, and purpose of visit.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Record daily security activities, including observations, irregularities, and violations of security policies.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding any security concerns or issues that arise during shifts.
- Safety and Emergency Procedures:
- Enforce safety rules and protocols as per company and regulatory standards.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, or incidents and follow the proper evacuations or facility security procedures.
- Assist in emergency response actions, such as calling law enforcement, fire department, or other emergency services as needed.
- Customer Service and Assistance:
- Greet and assist visitors, truck drivers, and employees in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide directions, instructions, and information as necessary to personnel and visitors.
- Handle inquiries related to facility entry or exit requirements.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate regularly with mill management, security personnel, and other departments to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Assist with coordinating deliveries and pickups by communicating with the warehouse or production teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Cross-train and learn Scale Operator duties
• Train and support seasonal/temporary employees during dump season.
• Complete additional duties upon the supervisor’s request.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic computer skills for logging entries and maintaining reports.
- Knowledge of security protocols, access control systems, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to security incidents or emergencies.
