The focus of the Process Engineer is to lead technical improvements across production lines and process areas to enhance equipment reliability, product quality, changeover efficiency, operational ease, and safety. This role also leads the technical transfer of new initiatives from Product Development to the plant, ensuring all startup and quality criteria are met. 

Additionally, the Process Engineer supports department leadership in developing procedures, training materials, and delivering effective training to operating personnel. This role may also contribute to projects that support cost reduction and loss elimination efforts, helping the plant to achieve its compelling business need. 

Responsibilities

As a Process Engineer, your key responsibilities may include:           

  • Applying engineering expertise to implement technical modifications that improve line reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Driving and implementing process improvements within the operation in collaboration with the Technical Engineering Organization to eliminate losses. 
  • Leading initiatives to reduce and eliminate product quality defects.
  • Understanding key loss areas within the department and contributing to the loss reduction strategy.
  • Serving as the technical lead for evaluating the feasibility of new initiatives and managing their transfer, training, and startup within operations.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of technical training and qualifications for department personnel. 
  • Adapting to business needs by engaging directly in operational work, supporting safety initiatives, and addressing non-standard behaviors or conditions. 
  • Communicating effectively within cross-functional teams, including external suppliers/vendors, Duracell Global Engineering, R&D, Line Technicians, Department and Plant Leadership. 
  • Making sound decisions based on data analysis and engineering judgment.

 

Qualifications

Please consider applying if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma tools (preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead teams or projects both within and outside the workplace.
  • Strong skills in data interpretation and technical reporting.
