JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Health and Sport Sciences in the College of Education and Health Sciences is currently seeking a full-time Faculty Tenure Track Position in Nutrition & Dietetics to start Fall 2026.
Adelphi University is a leading institution for Health Professions on Long Island. Over the last two years Nutrition Program enrollment has increased rapidly due to the addition of our second nutrition graduate program. The Nutrition Program currently offers two graduate nutrition programs:
MS in Nutrition: fully online courses- ideal for current RDs
MS in Nutrition and Dietetics: fully online courses, and in-person Supervised Experiential Learning (SEL) ACEND accredited program, leads to RD eligibility.
These programs are housed in the Department of Health and Sport Sciences within the College of Education and Health Sciences. The department also offers undergraduate programs in Exercise Science, Health Science, and Sport Management as well as graduate programs in Exercise Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physical Activity Studies, and Sport Management. These academic programs prepare practitioners, administrators, researchers and leaders within all relevant career fields. http://education-ehps.adelphi.edu/.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach graduate courses in nutrition and dietetics.
Supervise students conducting SELs (act as liaison between student and preceptor, conduct site visit resorts, assess competencies, etc.)
Serve on the ACEND Site Visit Committee and complete on-gong accreditation work.
Advise and mentor Graduate Assistants.
Advise and mentor students.
Provide service to school, university, and community.
Establish or continue a focused research line within nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned an academic terminal degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field. ABD candidates will receive consideration but need to have the doctoral degree earned by December 31st, 2025.
Registered Dietitian in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required.
Administrative experience as well as experience with ACEND accreditation, and SEL supervision are preferred.
Experience teaching pedagogy courses.
Experience teaching online courses.
A track record of scholarship and service.
Academic experiences with culturally diverse populations.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.

SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $76,000 - $78,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.
