Job Title: Financial Aid Officer

Job Summary: 
The Financial Aid Officer guides students through the financial aid process, from application to disbursement. This role is responsible for determining eligibility, packaging aid in compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining accurate records. We seek a detail-oriented professional committed to exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Advising: Interview students to assess financial need, determine eligibility, and counsel on aid options (grants, loans, veteran benefits).

  • Compliance & Data Management: Verify eligibility, maintain and audit student files for compliance, process ISIRs, and manage data in the student information system.

  • Account Management: Contact students with outstanding balances to establish repayment plans and collaborate with other departments on student status.

  • Documentation: Collect and verify required documents, such as proof of citizenship, default resolution, and VA forms.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent; 3+ years of financial aid office experience; knowledge of Title IV regulations; proficiency with MS Office/Google Workspace; eligibility to access DOE systems.

  • Preferred: Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree; experience with veteran benefits; proficiency with financial aid software.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $20.80 - $24.96 per hour.
