Wage: $22 per hour + tips

Élephante, the iconic rooftop restaurant in Santa Monica, is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Maitre D’ to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will manage reservations, seating arrangements, and ensure a seamless dining experience. About the Role
As a Maitre D’, you will oversee the flow of service by managing reservations, walk-ins, and seating assignments while maintaining a polished and professional presence. Your role is key in ensuring an exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure.
What You’ll Do
- Greet guests warmly and manage check-ins for reservations and walk-ins
- Organize and oversee the reservation book to maximize seating efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance area and venue
- Assist with incoming calls and guest inquiries
- Strategically seat guests to balance service and enhance the guest experience
- Support the dining room team with initial table setup and guest accommodations
- Prepare and organize menus, ensuring all materials are updated and available
- Follow all opening, closing, and sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with management, kitchen, and service staff to ensure seamless operations
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and teamwork
What We’re Looking For
- Previous hospitality experience required
- Prior Maitre D’ or front-of-house leadership experience preferred
- Experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant environment
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced setting
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
