About The Role
Macquarie University Health has an exciting opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Urology theatre team. In this role, you will play a vital role in wide range of procedures, including endoscopic, laparoscopic, and open urological surgeries. You will work as part of a dedicated and highly skilled team. This includes working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and fellow theatre staff to provide quality patient care and ensuring procedures are conducted smoothly and safely. Key duties of the role consist of preparing and setting up surgical instruments, handling essential specialised equipment, conducting preoperative safety checks, and assisting the surgical team throughout the procedure.

Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
Experienced Scrub and/or Scout Nurse. Experience in Urology surgical procedures is highly desirable
Experience working with urological surgical equipment and technologies, such as endoscopic systems, laser devices, and irrigation systems, is preferred
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication and information technology skills
Proven ability to establish sound relationships with peers and clients using a customer service focus
Well-developed computer skills including the use of electronic medical records systems, MQ Word, Excel and web-based research
Ability to work autonomously in the scrub and/or scout role while maintaining high clinical standards
Strong commitment to own professional development
Relevant experience in coordinating a Cardiothoracic service will be highly regarded.
Note: This position requires you to comply with Immunisation Screening in line with Macquarie University Health requirements and Accreditation with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This position also requires a current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance (WWCC) for NSW. You will also have to satisfy MQ Health that you meet all background checks (including criminal history check completed as part of our pre-employment checks process)
