Shift: 5x8 with rotating weekends and/or 4x10s or 3x12

OT: +1.5 after 40 hrs

Call: No Call

Schedule: Variable (need to be flexible to switch schedules periodically as needed – For example, if they work nights but someone is going out of town, they may need them to work evenings the following week)

 

AHA, BLS, CRT, Fluoro Cert, Venipuncture, ARRT

2 years CT/XR experience

Scrub color: Neutral (black, blue, etc.)

PPE provided

Radiology Tech/CT Tech - Full Time; Varied Shift

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Radiologist and the Director of Radiology performs a wide variety of studies including but not limited to portable, OR, fluoroscopy, routine radiography and some special procedures. This person will also be expected to be competent in CT at level II (see position specific requirements). It is expected that the employee learn the clerical functions in the department to the extent that they can complete all the clerical functions associated with the performance of a study. 

 

Education:

  • Requires graduation from accredited school of Radiologic Technology 

Experience:

  • One year Radiography/CT experience; 
  • must be proficient in acute care general radiology procedures including OR with Fluoro, 
  • must be proficient in all CT exams
  • 3D/Volume Rendering preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS course certified by the American Heart Association.  
  • ARRT 
  • CRT with Fluoroscopy License
  • CT certificate
  • venipuncture certificate required.

 





About the Role:

The Radiology Tech/CT Tech plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process by operating computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce detailed images of patients' internal structures. This position requires precision and technical expertise to ensure high-quality imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The tech collaborates closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to assist in diagnosing medical conditions accurately. Additionally, the role involves maintaining imaging equipment, adhering to radiation safety protocols, and managing patient records with confidentiality. Ultimately, the Radiology Tech/CT Tech contributes significantly to patient care by providing essential diagnostic information that guides effective treatment plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
  • Specialized certification or training in CT imaging.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety and protection standards.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical radiology department.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
  • Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interaction and teamwork.
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional growth in radiologic technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to prescribed protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Review images for clarity and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary and communicating findings to radiologists.
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
  • Document patient information and imaging results accurately in medical records while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and support diagnostic processes.
  • Stay current with advances in radiologic technology and participate in ongoing professional development.

The Radiology Tech/CT Tech utilizes technical skills daily to operate complex CT imaging machinery, ensuring precise image capture that aids in accurate diagnosis.
