As the Jr. System Administrator, you will be part of an important DoD program that has a direct impact on our nation's Warfighter. You will join a team of experienced technical professionals and grow your own expertise in the System Administration field. This position is based 100% on site at NAS Patuxent River, MD.


Working closely with our more senior System Administrators, you will support tasks such as: 

  • Planning, testing, and implementing system upgrades. 
  • Integrating new software applications.
  • Implementing operating systems security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Performing vulnerability scans and assessments
  • Troubleshooting software installed within an integrated environment.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in a technical area of study is required. If you do not hold an AA/AS degree, an additional 3 years of experience as an IT technician on DoD classified networks may be considered.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a systems administrator is required.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems; familiarity with Linux is a plus. 
  • Some experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) is preferred. 

Certification Requirements:

  • Candidates must hold a current IAT-II certification (e.g., Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+) as defined by DoD 8570.01-M. Please upload copies of any relevant IT certifications as part of your application. These documents help us verify qualifications during the initial screening process.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The estimated salary range for this position will be $90,000 - $100,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
