Hubbard Supplyhouse is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our family-like atmosphere. We are a plumbing and irrigation supply house that also specializes in kitchen, bath, appliances, and lighting. The Showroom Sales Associate plays a key role in driving sales and enhancing customer satisfaction by promptly and courteously assisting both walk-in and phone customers. Utilizing strong product knowledge and technical expertise, this role ensures customers receive tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.
Responsibilities and Duties
Customer Service
· Welcome and assist walk-in and telephone customers with professionalism and friendliness.
· Manage multiple customer inquiries and requests simultaneously with efficiency.
· Guide customers to the right products by asking insightful questions, listening actively, and offering appropriate solutions.
· Provide troubleshooting assistance and technical support as needed.
· Research and recommend alternative products when necessary to fulfill customer requirements.
· Accurately process orders using Eclipse ERP and handle returns or warranty claims in accordance with company policies.
· Maintain clear, proactive communication with customers regarding order status, delays, or alternative options.
· Resolve customer complaints promptly, balancing customer satisfaction with company policies.
· Keep the counter area clean, organized, and ready to serve customers.
· Foster positive relationships with returning customers encourage loyalty.
Sales Support
· Prepare and follow up on sales quotes to help close deals.
· Suggest complementary or promotional items to increase sales value.
· Collaborate with outside sales teams and management by sharing customer feedback and sales leads.
· Promote clearance and surplus inventory to support effective stock management.
· Communicate fluctuations in product demand and inventory levels to purchasing or management teams.
· Adhere to company guidelines on pricing, credit, and sales policies.
General Duties
· Stay current on new products and industry trends through ongoing training and team knowledge sharing.
· Assist with receiving, shipping, and other warehouse operations as needed.
· Ensure all paperwork and transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year in progressive position (2 years preferred)
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred:
- Previous experience in plumbing, irrigation, or a related industry
- Minimum 2 years in similar position preferred
- Wholesale distribution experience preferred
- Customer-facing sales experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage time and multitask in a busy environment
- Minimum 2 years in luxury product selling position (home goods, preferred)
- Minimum 1 year in progressive sales or design position (2 years preferred)
- Product/applications experience preferred
