Job Description:

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OREGON’S NATURAL RESOURCES!

As an Office Specialist 2 in Clackamas, Oregon, you will be responsible for providing direct public service including agency licensing, reception duties, clerical duties, responding to public inquiries and coordinating purchasing and billing activities for the North Willamette Watershed District and West Region staff in Clackamas. These Administrative Support Services to employees in these units directly contributes to the ability of employees to conduct their respective jobs to maintain and enhance fish and wildlife and their habitats for present and future citizens of Oregon. This position plays a vital role assisting the agency goal of excellence in public outreach and service.  Duties include:

  • Complete fiscal functions such as payment of bills, receiving and depositing money, and coordinating the purchase of goods and services

  • Process invoices, review purchase documents and print orders

  • Assist district and regional personnel with purchases

  • Schedule and grade various tests such as the trapper test, Wildlife Control Operator test, etc.

  • Provide information related to rules and regulations regarding sport hunting and fishing issues

  • Answer questions related to season, bag limits, tag exchanges, refunds, preference points, landowner preference, emergency hunts, and application deadlines

  • Provide assistance with fish and wildlife, including live animals, deceased specimens, roadkill, and various animal parts

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents;

-OR-

Option 2: An associate degree in any field; 

-OR-

Option 3: An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Attributes

  • Experience working in a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities

  • Experience working with fish and wildlife, including live animals, deceased specimens, roadkill, and various animal parts

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Experience processing invoices and related purchasing documents

  • Experience managing multiple phone lines

  • Experience reviewing customer documents for authenticity and accuracy

  • Experience serving a broad and diverse range of staff and members of the public
