About the Role Menahga Public Schools seeks a part-time Virtual Special Education Teacher to serve students enrolled in our online programs. The teacher provide case management, and due-process compliance in a virtual environment while collaborating closely with families and school teams.
Key Responsibilities
Case manage assigned students (progress monitoring, quarterly reporting, annual reviews, amendments, and re-evaluations).
Lead and participate in IEP meetings; coordinate evaluation plans and evaluation reports consistent with Minnesota statutes and IDEA.
Consult on services and accommodations in virtual settings; consult on accessible, engaging digital lessons.
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support inclusion and FAPE.
Maintain accurate documentation (service logs, progress reports, parent contact) and meet all due-process timelines.
Use district systems (e.g., Infinite Campus, SpEd Forms or equivalent) for records and communication.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education issued by PELSB (e.g., ABS, EBD, SLD, ASD, or appropriate categorical license).
Demonstrated experience implementing IEPs and delivering instruction—preferably in virtual or blended settings.
Strong communication, organization, and technology skills (video conferencing, LMS/Google Workspace, digital assessment tools).
Successful background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with case management and best practices.
Familiarity with Infinite Campus and SpEd Forms (or comparable tools).
Ability to conduct or coordinate standards-aligned progress monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
Multi-licensure or ability/willingness to serve multiple disability areas.
