ABOUT BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICE – CUSTOMER CARE

The Business Development Office – Customer Care branch is responsible for providing efficient and effective delivery of support services required for all provincial gaming retail networks, inclusive of over 2800 Lotto Spot retailers, over 700 VLT retailers and 29 Casinos/Racing Entertainment Centres as well as support for the Cannabis retail network, which is comprised of over 750 cannabis retailers. Our mission is to support our business teams and their achievement of annual revenue targets through provincially operated gaming and cannabis activities that align with AGLC's vision of responsible gaming and delivery of safe cannabis. Customer Care enhances the quality of customer interactions, ensuring quality assurance, compliance, regulatory and legal obligations are met across all interactions.

AGLC call centres support all retail networks in the Province of Alberta, albertacannabis.org, provide dispatch support to AGLC technicians, triage support for IT, Regulatory, Business Development Office teams and public support calls including retailer training programs and the Customer Complaint lines.

JOB SUMMARY

This is a Full Time Temporary position – up to 1 year

This position is responsible for the day to day processing of winning lottery tickets in the Calgary Prize Payout Office. In addition to assisting claimants with their prize claims, this position will provide lottery information to the general public.

The Prize Payout Customer Service Representative interacts on a daily basis with the general public, ticket lottery winners, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) and Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) staff, in a courteous, respectful and professional manner.  Expectations are high in the role to ensure the integrity of lottery games and adhering to established policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the WCLC, the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation and the AGLC.  This position must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and timeliness in the completion of prize claim transactions.

To be successful, the candidate needs to have the ability to maintain calm composure during stressful situations and has to be focused on providing the best “Winning Experience” possible for Albertans. The successful candidate must be able to work within a team, multi-task, exercise sound judgment and have strong computer skills. Additional training in conflict management would be a strong asset within this position.

SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High school diploma with a minimum of two years front line, customer service and/or information related service-based experience is required.
  • A Valid Driver’s License, Commissioner of Oaths (existing or to be completed on the job).
