Behavioral Support Specialist
Full-Time (32-40 hours per week)

Hourly/Non-Exempt - $30-$40 per hour based on experience
Reports to: Director of Student Support Services
Working in a collegial, consensus-building manner with faculty, students, parents, staff, and other members of the Chartwell community, the Behavioral Support Specialist will work one-on-one with an individual student to facilitate positive classroom behavior to promote the individual student’s ability to benefit from Chartwell’s specialized, research-based educational program.
1. Collaborate with Chartwell’s Student Support Team to address the Social-Emotional
Academic Development of the assigned student.
2. Provide support for student in the classroom to successfully access their academic program and meet behavioral expectations.
3. Collaborate with team members to adjust the classroom structure and/or environment to support student learning and behavior.
4. Assess, intervene, support, and guide with the use of strategies to self-regulate.
5. Implement and collect data for the individual student behavior intervention plan.
6. Provide data collected related to behavioral and/or social-emotional goals on the IEP.
7. Report to the Director of Student Support for reflection, updates, guidance, etc.
8. Attend workshops and in-service training to obtain up-to-date information in the area of special education and maintain certifications and licensure.
9. Other tasks may be deemed appropriate and necessary by members of the leadership team.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; BA
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: High school diploma required; BA or MA in Education, Special Education, or Psychology preferred
Certification: Training and/or certification in Behavior Management required
Experience: Prior experience in Behavior Support within a school setting preferred

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience; medical benefits are included.
