Cafeteria Assistant – Job Description
The Cafeteria Assistant supports the daily operations of the campus cafeteria to ensure nutritious, high-quality meals are prepared and served to scholars in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager and Cafeteria Lead, this position assists with food preparation, portioning, and service while maintaining safe food-handling practices, following standardized recipes, and upholding John Adams Academy’s mission and values.
Responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation and service, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of facilities and equipment, supporting inventory and recordkeeping, and providing excellent customer service to scholars and staff. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Cafeteria Assistant must also maintain current food handler certification, TB clearance, CPR/First Aid certification, and fingerprint clearance.
