Completion of work to understand the role of calcium homeostasis in schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. Continuing the dissection of a particular component of this system (plasma membrane calcium ATPases) and the interpretation of rare mutations through structural understanding. The Daly Lab focuses on genetic discovery across immune-mediated and psychiatric disorders. They work simultaneously on growing biobank efforts to expand and diversify genetic discovery and to develop strategies that advance the interpretation of mechanism underlying disease-causing variation.Responsibilities:Conduct independent research, primarily computationally-based, to define the genetic causes of common disease and to explore the mechanisms by which they cause disease.Education requirements: PhDYears of experience: none-required post-PhDMinimum requirements:Experience with genetic analysis. Specific expertise in GWAS and exome sequencing analysis and interpretation. Proficiency in large-scale cloud-based computation. Familiarity with the use of large-scale biobank resources and protein structure prediction analysis.
