Position Overview:
The Order Finalizer plays a key role in ensuring that customer shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This position is responsible for verifying order accuracy, performing material handling tasks, and finalizing shipments in accordance with established quality and performance standards. The Order Finalizer works within a highly automated fulfillment environment and contributes to operational excellence by adhering to safety, compliance, and productivity requirements while maintaining flexibility to support multiple work areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Order Processing & Finalization:
- Verify order contents and finalize shipments in gurneys to ensure accuracy prior to dispatch.
- Perform material handling tasks such as unboxing automotive parts, checking hardware specifications, verifying product quality standards, and reboxing as needed to meet or exceed quality expectations.
2. Operational Flexibility:
- Perform tasks outside of the normal work area when requested to support overall DC operations.
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to develop a versatile skill set and contribute to workforce flexibility.
3. Performance & Compliance:
- Complete all tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meeting required performance metrics and quality benchmarks.
- Track and record daily performance achievements within the Labor Tracker Metrics System.
4. Continuous Improvement & Training:
- Engage in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency.
- Support ongoing process improvement efforts within the DC.
5. Safety & Workplace Standards:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with PPE requirements and company safety standards.
- Operate powered industrial trucks and mechanized material handling equipment safely and responsibly.
6. Attendance & Reliability:
- Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality, minimizing disruption to operations caused by absence or lateness.
7. Additional Duties:
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the DC Manager and/or DC Supervisor.
- This position has no direct reports.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of direct warehouse experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably with exposure to small parcel and LTL order processing.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with basic computer and technology usage; familiarity with distribution software systems strongly preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge & Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude and general understanding of automotive parts preferred.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to adapt to changing operational needs.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Mobility: Ability to move throughout the warehouse, including walking on concrete floors and maneuvering between work areas.
- Standing and Walking: Frequent standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Lifting and Carrying: Regularly lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Tools & Equipment: Use of carton knives, taping equipment, automated strappers, pallet wrappers, carts, and other small hand tools.
- Posture & Motion: Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching while handling products and materials.
- Vision & Hearing: Adequate visual and auditory acuity to safely operate equipment and complete quality checks.
- Work Environment: Work is performed in a modern DC facility with exposure to varying temperatures, moderate noise, and active warehouse operations.
Travel Requirements:
This position does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel to other DCs may be requested to provide support as needed.
