Job Description
- Plan and implement quad activity programs
- Assist and evaluate large group activities
- Meet the needs of our residents by adaptation to programs
- Knowledge and ability to document episodic events, as well as attend care plan meetings
- Work collaboratively with inter-agency departments to develop a meaningful and appropriate activities calendar
- Provide on-going activities either in a group or independently
- Offer educational, spiritual, exercise, mental and other forms of activities for the residents’ benefit, while implementing care plans
- Be comfortable with being the front line of communication with families whose loved ones live at Weinberg Commons
- Develop weekly communication to families about the activities and wellbeing, in conjunction with Quad Managers and DSP reports
- Facilitate a family/resident intake upon move-in to ensure programing needs are met
- Work on family and staff engagement opportunities
- Complete all documentation, state, federal and departmentally required
- Financial Management of Company Credit Card

- -Cooperates with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation
- -Driver’s license valid in the state of New Jersey
- -Shall submit to a criminal background check, and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served. · Agrees to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities ·
- -Shall submit to drug testing prior to employment · Shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause. ·
- -Shall complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Experience with creating and overseeing community based activities
