TITLE: Outreach Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Youth Services Department, Beacon
LOCATION: 145 Stanton Street New York, NY 10002
PROGRAM: Beacon
REPORTS TO: Program Director
SALARY: $20 - $24 per hour, 20-25 hours a week
DATE: September 2025 – June 2026
SCHEDULE: Mon - Sat; Scheduling may vary due to the needs of the program.
JOB SUMMARY: The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with Beacon Program Director to support the program with partnerships. The outreach coordinator is responsible for:
- Bringing in partnerships to Beacon program
- Connecting the Lower East Side Community with programs at Beacon
- Act as a liaison between the Beacon program and outside organizations
- Correspond to emails and phone calls in regards to partnerships
- Organize meetings, events, and seek out opportunities to make our organization's presence known
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Two years or more experience in the field of youth development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Facility to motivate others toward achieving goals
- Ability to develop alliances with high risk and difficult to engage youth and families
- Knowledge of community resources and counseling practices with high-risk populations
- Outstanding collaborative skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Beacon program team and community providers to conduct community outreach and promote the program
- Collaborate with hospitals, clinics and community service provides to engage families in community events
- Create and maintain a thorough written record of assessments, outreach efforts and all required documentation
- Work collaboratively with community resources to establish timely and effective referral processes
- Introduce and lead parent workshops that promote academic, social, and emotional development of both parents and students
- Work collaboratively with community resources and advocate for families when necessary
- Refer participants to a social worker for counseling to support with crisis intervention and safety planning
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Beacon Program Director
