Painters Supply & Equipment Co, a PSE Group Company, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Aerospace Purchasing/Inventory and Shipping Specialist to manage critical aspects of our aerospace and military supply chain operations. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing specialized materials, primarily coatings and meeting strict aerospace and military specifications. The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and efficient delivery schedules.
This position plays a key role in analyzing inventory levels, forecasting material demand, and tracking supplier performance through KPIs. The specialist will work to identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain while continuously refining purchasing and planning processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
In addition to procurement duties, this role supports inter-store product transfers, cycle counts, and collaborates with warehouse and shipping/receiving operations. The role also includes regular engagement with the General Manager and leadership team during weekly key account meetings.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate, and procure a variety of materials used in aerospace and military applications, with a primary focus on coatings meeting specific technical specifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure Painters Supply & Equipment receives competitive pricing, high-quality products, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
- Analyze inventory levels and material demand to accurately forecast purchasing requirements and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain to prevent disruptions and ensure operational continuity.
- Continuously refine purchasing and planning processes to improve overall efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager and leadership team during weekly key account meetings to align purchasing strategies with business objectives.
- Initiate and manage inter-store product transfers to balance inventory across locations.
- Provide support for customer service, shipping/receiving, and general warehouse operations as needed.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management.
- Prior experience in the aerospace or coatings industry is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- In depth knowledge of inventory control and supply chain best practices.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
- Ability to assist with maintaining and updating product databases.
- Proven ability to manage and maintain inventory levels while controlling associated costs.
Soft Skills & Abilities
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a small team environment.
Physical Requirements & Additional Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move intermittently throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to twist, kneel, climb ladders, and maneuver product in a warehouse or storage environment.
- Approximately 70% of the role involves computer-based work (desktop/laptop usage).
- Must be able to handle physical materials such as files and catalogs as needed.
- Candidates must successfully complete a preemployment drug screening.
- Must meet company standards for Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requirements as part of the hiring process.
Other Requirements
Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed. If usage of employee’s own vehicle is required for company business, employee must obtain appropriate insurance per Company Policy. Employee must be licensed and able to operate vehicle in accordance with state law including commercial driver’s license if required. Must have acceptable driving record from State Motor Vehicle Bureau.
