About the Role:
Join Quincy Medical Group as our Director of IT, overseeing both our IT Infrastructure/Operations and EMR (EHR) Applications teams. You’ll lead the strategy and day-to-day delivery of reliable, secure technology and a high-performing electronic medical record for our patients and providers. This role blends hands-on leadership, roadmap planning, and strong partnership with clinical and business leaders.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead two teams—IT (service desk, endpoints, network, servers, cloud, cybersecurity) and EMR (build, optimization, training, reporting)—with clear goals and service levels.
• Own the technology and EMR roadmap; prioritize projects, upgrades, and optimizations with clinical and operational stakeholders.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and uptime; oversee change control, testing, and go-live planning.
• Drive data integrity, reporting, and interoperability (interfaces, HL7/FHIR, HIE, e-prescribing, labs, imaging).
• Champion cybersecurity and compliance: HIPAA/HITECH, security risk assessments, access controls, audit readiness, incident response, and disaster recovery/business continuity.
• Manage vendors and contracts; evaluate solutions, negotiate terms, and monitor performance.
• Build a culture of service—measure and improve SLAs, ticket responsiveness, and user satisfaction.
• Develop people and process: hire, coach, and mentor; implement best practices (e.g., ITIL) and standard work.
• Partner with finance on budgeting, forecasting, and asset lifecycle management.
• Communicate clearly with leaders and frontline teams; translate technical topics into plain language.
• Other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
Benefits & Compensation
• Core Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, including 100% medical coverage (after deductible) with QMG providers.
• Life & Disability Insurance: Employer-provided life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage.
• Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $5,250 annually to support your educational goals.
• Paid Time Off: Flexible time off, 6 paid holidays, and 5 paid volunteer days.
• Parental Benefits: Up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave, childcare assistance, and financial support for adoption and surrogacy.
• Financial Perks: Bi-weekly 401(k) employer match and access to earned wages before payday through the Instant Pay Benefit.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive IT leadership, including direct people leadership; healthcare setting strongly preferred.
• EMR/EHR experience required (build/optimization, change control, training, reporting).
• Working knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH, the 21st Century Cures Act (information blocking), cybersecurity best practices, and disaster recovery.
• Proven success managing complex projects, budgets, and vendors.
• Comfortable with data/reporting and interoperability concepts (HL7/FHIR/interfaces).
• Helpful certifications: ITIL, PMP, CHCIO, CISM/CISSP (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent communication, relationship building, and customer-service mindset.
