About the Department
Family Time Case Manager positions are very rewarding! Family Time Case Managers provide support and encouragement to parents of children who are victims of abuse and neglect by helping parents learn and develop parenting skills, increase parental capacity, and make progress in addressing concerns that led to their children's involvement in child welfare. This position promotes, supervises, and monitors safe family time for parents and children to develop and maintain attachment bonding. Family Time Case Managers work as part of the "family team" with caseworkers, attorneys, treatment providers, kinship/foster families, and parents and their children.
This position is primarily in the community, with the flexibility of doing some remote/office work. The typical schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday, 10am-7pm, and Saturday, 8am-5pm.
Position Duties
What you'll be doing:
- Providing safe, educational, and supervised parenting time for children in out-of-home placement and their parents.
- Assessing and evaluating parenting skills, and building skills around deficits to mitigate child safety concerns, specifically addressing the Six Protective Factors: nurturing and attachment, knowledge of child developmental stages, parental resilience, supportive social connections, access to concrete community support, and social and emotional competence of children.
- Working in a team consisting of the family, support network, Caseworker, Guardian Ad Litem, care provider, and other service providers.
- Testifying in court.
- Providing transportation for children to and from parenting time.
- Documenting timely and accurate information on each contact with a family.
- Attending Family Unity Meetings, Family Group Conferences, and Permanency Round Tables for each family on your caseload.
- Attending all unit meetings, individual supervision, and group supervision.
- Providing in-person family time for incarcerated parents at the Larimer County Detention Center.
- Training, coaching, and supporting kin/non-traditional kin in providing safe, supervised family time.

What we're looking for:
- Knowledge of family dynamics and effective parenting methods.
- Knowledge of child development, abuse and neglect, and safe, appropriate parent education practices.
- Ability to work with parents experiencing substance use disorder, mental health challenges, and legal issues, as well as their extended families and support networks.
- Ability to engage with children who have experienced trauma.
- Understanding of social services principles, practices, and objectives.
- Familiarity with emergency procedures and the ability to respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Knowledge of case management principles and social casework planning.
- Safe driving practices and proper passenger restraint techniques.
- Ability to act as a credible witness in court proceedings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of community resources, agencies, and organizations, including how to connect them to client needs.
- Skills in observing, assessing, and documenting family and client behaviors accurately and effectively.
- Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of individualized service plans.
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to respond effectively in challenging situations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, including scheduling multiple appointments efficiently.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate, complete, and timely records of all work performed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Combination of education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
- Complete training and/or certification as mandated by the assigned program required.
Case Manager II $26.0838/hr - $31.3006/hr
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required. Combination of education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
- One (1) year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
- Complete training and/or certification as mandated by the assigned program required.

Other Qualifications
The position will be located at one of the following three locations: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, or 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland.
All new employees and rehires will be required to submit fingerprints for a CBI criminal background check (c.r.s. 26-6-104).
All staff working in the Options for Long Term Care Unit, Adult Protection Unit, or Office on Aging will be required to submit information for a Colorado Adult Protective Services data system check (c.r.s. 26-3-1-111).
