Position: Process Operator
Primary Location: Mount Vernon, WA
Schedule: 3am-11am (M-F)
Reports to: Plant Manager
Compensation: $30.90/hr, non-exempt

Specific salary details can be discussed during the hiring process. Posted compensation reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives.

About This Role and You
The scope of this job is being diverse in the ability to perform general operational plant duties; performances include observing tank truck loading and unloading, and pump operations. Inspecting piping, valves, and maintaining plant upkeep by performing regular PMs. Provide personnel coverage as needed (excluding Operator C level).
The primary responsibilities of the Process Operator are to:
- Achieve training to gain knowledge for operating Sulfur Prilling and Emulsified Sulfur Plants.
- Monitor, mix and control product/process.
- Achieve training to operate cooling towers, heat exchangers pumps, mixers, conveyors system, bucket elevators.
- Monitor steam pressure, temperature, and boiler operation.
- Achieve training in general plant maintenance.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist operation of Sulfur Prilling Plant 50%
- Assist operation of Emulsified Sulfur Plant 5%
- General Plant Maintenance 10%
- Operate Forklift 10%
- Operate Wheel Loaders 10%
- Oversee and assist loading Emulsified Sulfur 15%
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude and skills required.
- Previous maintenance experience required.
- Must have an understanding of units of weights and measures.
- Works well under direction and follows established procedures.
- Forklift and wheel loader experience preferred.
- Experience working in an industrial environment preferred.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical demands and work environement

- Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Employee is required to climb stairs/ladders (including vertical).
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
- Must be “fit for duty”.
Must be able to perform under the following conditions:
- Work in awkward or confining workspaces.
- Work in elevated places.
- Work in outdoor environment.
- Work in noisy environment.
- Work in areas that are dusty and have some odor from chemicals and etc.
- Safety is a job requirement.
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Medical Requirement
