The UK KOL Manager – Complex Spine will play a critical role in leading strategic engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs) across the UK to drive awareness, clinical adoption, and advocacy of our complex spine solutions. This role bridges commercial strategy and clinical excellence, ensuring that UK&I has strong representation on the wider European and global spine stage.
Working in alignment with international KOL engagement strategy, this position will identify and cultivate relationships with top spinal surgeons, neurosurgeons, academic institutions, and healthcare influencers to gather insights, support research, and facilitate evidence-based education.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive KOL engagement strategy, aligned with UK business objectives and international directives
  • Identify, develop, and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with leading spinal surgeons, neurosurgeons, and academic KOLs across the UK
  • Drive scientific exchange between the organization and the clinical community in a compliant and meaningful way
  • Plan, organize, and manage advisory boards, clinical roundtables, symposia, and congress engagements
  • Gather and relay field insights and clinical intelligence to Marketing, R&D, and Medical Affairs to support product development, positioning, and lifecycle management
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing and Regulatory teams to ensure consistent messaging, value proposition, and clinical support
  • Manage and influences a network of experienced professionals and stakeholders with significant latitude and independence
  • Face complex, undefined challenges requiring strong analytical thinking and clinical understanding.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in medical devices (ideally in spine, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, or a related field)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and academic institutions
  • Strong understanding of UK healthcare system (NHS, NICE, procurement pathways)
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the UK (70%+), with occasional European/international travel for congresses and strategic alignment meetings.

We prefer if you hold Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Business, or related field. Also, we would prefer if you have prior experience in KOL management, clinical education, or medical affairs as well as network of existing relationships in the UK complex spine community.
