The Opportunity - About the Role

We have an exciting new opportunity for Development Manager to join Stockland’s Residential Apartments team in Victoria.

Stockland has shaped Australian urban living since the 1960s, starting with Point Piper in 1963, followed by iconic developments like Toft Monks and Park Regis. These early projects redefined apartment living through prestige, design, and community connection—principles that still guide our work today.

As our cities continue to change, driven by various technological, social and economic needs, they require a forward-thinking vision. This will require bold and creative ideas where collaboration, diverse perspectives and innovation will drive success.

Now is an exciting time to join our growing apartments team. As a Development Manager you will focus on a launch project and deliver on Stockland’s strategy relating to the growth in the Apartments, Mixed Use and Build to Rent sectors.  This role will be based at our Melbourne CBD office with responsibility for projects in Victoria.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Develop and maintain financial models for projects, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Implement the Residential Sustainability Policy at the project level, promoting environmental stewardship.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain robust working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including planning authorities and relevant agencies
  • Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends, develop strategies in response and cultivate strategic relationships.
  • Cross-divisional collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration across divisions to maximise profitability by leveraging mixed-use capabilities and experiences
  • Market and competitor monitoring: Coordinate the monitoring of market and competitor activities.

 

About you  

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced professional with a track record delivering Apartment-led Mixed-Use projects as a Development Manager in Australia. In addition, you will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Development Expertise: Strong understanding and experience of the full development cycle from concept to delivery and occupation.
  • Commercial Acumen: Skilled in site assessment, feasibility analysis, risk and opportunity management and planning.
  • Collaborative Mindset: A team player who thrives in collaborative environments but can also work independently to drive outcomes.
  • Proactive Attitude: Energetic and motivated to push projects forward and achieve results.
  • Educational Background: Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
