Director Finance Partnering and Insights - NSW Motorways (Temporary Opportunity up to 7 months) (Macquarie Park, NSW, AU, 2113) at None

Shape the financial future of a new NSW Motoways entity from the ground up.

Drive transformation at the intersection of strategy, finance, and public impact. 

In this role, you'll:

• Report to the Executive Director Finance Partnering & Insights, with a dotted line to the Chief Executive for NSW Motorways.
• Establish NSW Motorways as an entity, with a focus on leading the enablement of Finance and delivery of key program milestones.
• Act as a trusted strategic finance advisor to NSW Motorways' executive leadership, enabling sound decision-making.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes aligned to Transport's strategic priorities, and deliver monthly/quarterly financial reporting cycles
• Collaborate with the Chief Executive and Leadership Team in preparing the strategic plan, identifying risks and opportunities, and preparing the Motorways Asset and Services Plan to inform the FY27 budget process
• Deliver financial transformation and sustainability initiatives, balancing compliance, innovation, and reform.
• Lead and develop a small high-performing, collaborative, and inclusive finance team that feels empowered to deliver results
• Demonstrate a solutions-focused approach, supporting partners and delivering on commitments, including defining the future-state ongoing (BAU) financial management beyond the initial setup phase.

About You

You’re an inspirational finance leader with a track record of enabling strategic transformation in complex environments. You bring deep expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Recognised as a forward-thinking and influential communicator, you bring a proven track record of delivering results and navigating intricate financial landscapes with confidence and impact.

Your stakeholder engagement skills are exceptional, allowing you to influence senior executives and partner across government. You thrive in ambiguity, balancing reform delivery with operational excellence.

To succeed, you’ll require tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, full membership of a recognised professional accounting body, and demonstrated experience leading financial enablement in large-scale programs or entity setups.

Ideally, you also have proven experience in the government sector, with a keen understanding of navigating the public landscape. Experience in a Motorways environment will be highly regarded.
