FORS, the Swiss Centre of Expertise in the Social Sciences, implements large-scale national and international surveys, provides data and research information services to researchers and academic institutions, and conducts methodological and thematic research. FORS is responsible for acquiring, documenting, preserving, and disseminating high-quality quantitative and qualitative data and research information in accordance with national and international standards. We also promote these data and services and advocate for a research culture of data sharing and secondary analysis in the social sciences in Switzerland. FORS activities are co-financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation and its host institution, the University of Lausanne.

To strengthen our Data Tools & Services team within the Infrastructure & Development unit, we are looking for a

Project Manager (80%)

Starting date: at your earliest convenience

Contract: Permanent contract

Workplace: Géopolis on the campus of the University of Lausanne

Salary: According to the University of Lausanne salary scheme.

Job description

As a project manager, your transversal management skills will assure organizational stability of the running and future projects and services of the Data Tools & Services team and drive the processes to reach the objectives.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

  • Planning and monitoring the project
  • Risk and change management
  • Stakeholder management
  • Project development
  • Budget management

The ideal candidate

  • Excellent fluency in English (German and/or French are assets)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Organizational and planning skills (drive, precision, autonomy)
  • Good writing and communication skills (minutes, reports, pre-reads documents)
  • Team spirit
  • Knowledge of the academic and research data landscape (asset)
  • Master’s degree in Business/Marketing/Communication/IT/Social Sciences
