We’re currently looking for a Backup Babysitter in Cedar Park, TX (78613)
A loving family in Cedar Park, TX (30 minutes north of Austin) is seeking a responsible and nurturing caregiver to provide backup care for their two children during weekdays, as needed. This is a temporary position throughout the rest of 2025.
Start date: October 2025
End date: January 2026
- Care needs: As needed, no guaranteed weekly hours
- Days: Monday–Friday (schedule varies based on family’s needs)
- Times: between 8am–4pm (3–4 hours per day)
- Advance notice: 2 days
Rate: $22/hr
2 Children: Infant (4 months) Preschooler (4.5 years) — typically in school, but may need occasional care on school closure days
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care in the family’s home
- Bottle feeding, diaper changes, naps
- Age-appropriate play, engagement, and entertainment
- Occasional care for 4.5-year-old, including serving pre-prepared meals
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment
Requirements
- CPR certification or willing to become certified prior to the start of care
- Minimum 2 years of paid experience with children in the infant/preschool age range
- Able to provide 2 references from previous care positions
- Ability to pass background and social media checks
- Portuguese language skills preferred (not required- family is willing to pay extra per hour)
- Comfort around dogs (mixed breed-medium size, friendly; no pet care needed)
Compensation
This position pays $22 per hour depending on qualifications. The family’s care needs are for work days when extra care is needed or the oldest daughter's school is closed. This is a temporary role until January 2026 when the family returns to their home state.
