ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Independently performs environmental monitoring as written in NOW’s Microbiology Laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedure.
• Perform routine environmental monitoring of surfaces, water, and air.
• Performs visual inspection of production workstations for maintenance and sanitation work orders.
• Collects swab sample for ATP, Allergen, and Pathogen testing.
• Collects air and water samples for testing.
• Reports environmental monitoring results for trending.
• Communicates with other departments regarding corrective actions, out-of-specifications and out-of-trend results.
• Monitors soap and sanitizer concentration on all sanitation rooms.
• Complies with Safety and cGMP requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• HS diploma or equivalent and six months experience working in a cGMP environment or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Knowledge of cGMP regulations required.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as product specifications, departmental instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals (S.O.P.). Ability to accurately complete paperwork. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good active listening skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, averages, ratios, proportions, and the metric system to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to compare results to specifications and determine if result meets requirements. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Computer proficiency, including with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including off shifts and weekends.

The employee will regularly lift, move (in some cases drag items), slide, raise and/or place:
- Ascend and descend steps carrying up to 35 lbs.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist height.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from waist to shoulder.
- Push and pull to generate force for 42 lbs. force at 36-inch height
- Push and pull to generate force of 65 lbs. at 36-inch height
- Grasp 60# force

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
• The employee is frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some classified as allergens or irritants.
• This position works in all areas of NOW’s manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging.
• Frequently exposed to all the FDA designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans) except for peanuts, Wheat and Soybeans, Sesame.
• Works around ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, botanicals, etc. and chemicals such as alcohol, that may require respiratory protection.
• May be exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals and biological materials.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud, and in some areas where louder hearing protection is required.
• Must be able to travel, including travel to other facilities.
