About the Department
Under general supervision, is responsible for supporting Bexar County Information Technology team; will support the mission of the County, ensuring successful delivery of IT services as defined in the duties and responsibilities. This position will represent the County in a professional and effective manner and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement.
Position Duties
- Serve as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountability
- Execute upgrades, maintenance, and configuration of endpoint management suite to include System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Intune, Absolute by Computrace, Apple Business Manager, & Microsoft Entra
- Foster a common understanding of Domain Joined, Hybrid Domain Joined, and Azure AD Joined Device scenarios
- Design and implement IT Endpoint Management Framework with supporting processes and procedures
- Monitor and administer the operations of systems and services supporting computing endpoints, including endpoint management, configuration, and security tools
- Perform development of scripting, application packaging, and provisioning and deployment of applications and services related to endpoint computing management
- Ensure audit and compliance successful outcomes by identifying problems and implementing solutions, as directed
- Assist in tracking endpoint usage and interpreting statistics from reports designed to enable efficient deployment and utilization of computer resources
- Coordinate with Senior Endpoint Administrator to ensure documentation of all enterprise scale technologies is sufficient and complete
- Execute on tickets assigned by the Senior Endpoint Administrator
- Develop and maintain standard PC images based on varying Office/Department requirements
- Responsible for cross-organizational efforts required to standardize configurations with infrastructure changes across the production environment
- Responsible for ensuring all configuration changes are implemented with the minimal amount of impact to our customers
- Work with team members to make improvements in the configuration management processes
- Conduct assessments regarding hardware and software configuration and implement various changes within technology systems
- Produce product builds to be used in testing and in production
- Perform software deficiency and change request updates and reporting
- Perform other related technology duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a relevant degree, 3-5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in enterprise IT Endpoint Management; experience creating performance metrics and continual improvement models for process control; experience with Microsoft System Center
- Configuration Manager; experience working with stakeholders at all levels of an information technology department, as well as information technology department customers
- Advance knowledge with SCCM & Intune to include image creation, software packaging, deployments and reporting
- Planning skills with risk analysis, contingency, and mitigation planning; critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner across functional and technical departments, both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, stakeholders, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, outside organizations and agencies, vendors and the general public
- Demonstrate technological intuitiveness
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- Required to travel to remote sites within Bexar County
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance, and; must have available transportation during entire workday
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
- May be required to work weekends
- This position may need to satisfy the requirement of completing and passing an assessment during the employment process
