Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Complete all aspects of accounting, tax and audit engagements for clients
- Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, general tax regulation, general quality control auditing standards, technology implementation procedures, etc. relative to individual client assignments
- Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested
- Strive to attain charge hour goals
- Practice in early practice development activities such as: memberships in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements
Reviews tax information supplied by client; may meet with or call client with questions
Assists with the preparation and detail review of federal, state, local and special tax return
Prepares, or assists in the preparation of, complex tax returns and tax research
Researches tax issues and provides oral and/or written responses to management and clients
Recognizes, anticipates and resolves tax issues; makes recommendations and able to actively communicate with supervisors
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects
Tax staff should be familiar with IRS Circular 230 Regulations Governing the Practice of Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, Actuaries and Enrolled Agents Before the IRS and the AICPA Professional Code of Conduct
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
Meets filing deadline responsibilities.
Able to multitask effectively in fast pace, deadline-oriented environment
- Execute administrative duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
- Previous tax internships preferred
- CPA, CPA candidate, or plans to sit for the CPA Exam
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must have completed at least one "busy season
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
The annual salary target for this job in this market is $75,000-$80,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
