POSITION: Business Clerk
LOCATION: Red Cliff Community Health Center
WAGE: $15.00-$17.00 per hour, Plus Benefits
SUPERVISOR: HIM/Business Department Supervisor
THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION
JOB SUMMARY: This position will provide dual support services within the Red Cliff Community Health Center. This position will be assisting with receiving and registering patients presenting to the Red Cliff Community Health Center; as well as assisting with basic business and Purchased Referred Care office functions.
Position Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Administration
- Greet patients professionally and cordially.
- Promptly answer, screen and route incoming calls.
- Register new patients in Intergy Greenway system.
- Update demographics at each visit for returning patients.
- Request, enter, and scan financial/insurance information in Intergy Greenway system.
- Schedule patients for providers, as needed.
- Accept patients’ payments and record incoming payments per the cash receipt policy.

8. Record incoming checks received via mail, per cash receipt policy.9. Assist with the processing of Purchased Referred Care claims for payment.
10. Alert in a timely manner administration and/or other appropriate staff to discrepancies, gaps, or other problems with individual or groups of patient health information.
11. Adheres to and supports facility policies, programs and activities.
12. Advance job knowledge and skills through continuing education efforts after approval of Supervisor.
13. Attend staff and other meetings, in-services and other events as directed by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
- Experience working in electronic health record systems (preferred).
- Medical office experience (preferred).
- Computer literacy, in particular MS Xcel and Word (preferred).
- Ability to deal constructively with conflict.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct varied and complex workflow and the flow of patient care.
- Sound judgment and the ability to respond to unusual circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED required
- Valid driver’s license and at least liability insurance; preferred.
Other Qualifications
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Considerable daily contact will be made with the general public, tribal leadership, Program Directors and staff, consultant(s), and the Tribal Community.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties assigned to this position involve bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying. Items may be placed in overhead storage or shelving.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: All Tribal Buildings are smoke free.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally.
