Description
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Housing Operations, the Maintenance Team Lead works in partnership with Support Services to ensure the smooth operation of CEC managed properties. The Team Leader will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems as well as overseeing the maintenance team.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Oversees the maintenance team and the repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems.
- Works with the Property Management team in the turnover of units. Prepares units for new residents after the previous residents have vacated, make ready and service request schedules and report ready to show apartments.
- Ensure buildings, structures, and their systems comply with state and local building codes, zoning ordinances, and safety regulations. Prepare properties and ensure a passing score for Federal, State and local agency inspections.
- Coordinate actions to improve work order processes, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
- Monitor and evaluate Team’s work performance, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Full-time | Benefit Eligible (Medical, free DMO dental & free vision) including 6 weeks PTO & 11 Holidays
Hourly Rate: $25.00
Requirements
- MUST have a valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record!
- MUST provide two letters of recommendation from previous employers.
- At least 2 years working in a similar role.
- Physical strength, including the ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and fit into tight spaces.
- Knowledge of general carpentry.
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
- Ability to use power and hand tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
- Time management and attention to detail skills.
- General computer literacy.
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
