Description
The Kitchen Lead works as part of the MSAD 54 kitchen team and site team assisting with preparation of high
quality meals for children ages 0-5 and food for meetings. Within this co-staffing model with MSAD 54, the
Kitchen Lead is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of Hight Family Early Learning Center
Food Service, ensuring the implementation of quality meals and nutrition education for children ages birth to
five in compliance with CACFP, Department of Education and Head Start Performance Standards.
Requirements
- Two years’ experience in quantity food preparation preferred.
- Basic knowledge of nutritional needs of children.
- Ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- Ability to organize and oversee kitchen duties.
- Possess a valid drivers license and have use of a vehicle insured to State of Maine requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Serve Safe Certification preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and speak or listen, stand,
walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel or crouch. Able to lift 50 pound containers and packages and
pass a physical examination.
