9-month student calendar, August 15th - May 15th. Nights and weekends as required

Typical salary up to $58,163 paid over 12 months

What You'll Do:

As a General Nurse Practitioner at UMF, you'll play a vital role in providing comprehensive primary care services to our diverse university population. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and developing individualized care plans.
  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions prevalent in a college-age population.
  • Prescribing medications and other therapies.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Providing essential health education and counseling to students and the broader campus community.
  • Collaborating with physicians, specialists, and other campus support services to ensure seamless, coordinated care.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution of higher education.

Required License/Certifications:

  • Holds or must attain a State of Maine license to practice as RN/APRN prior to completion of the hiring process
  • ANCC or AANP Certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current DEA license or ability to obtain a license within the first year of employment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience as a nurse practitioner
  • Experience in ambulatory care and/or college health
