Job Responsibilities: 

The Bright Start (maternity) Care Connector is responsible for supporting the daily operations of integrated care management and utilization management program interventions.  The Care Connector performs in a contact center environment, effectively processing calls from Members, Providers and other areas, internal and external to the company.  The CC identifies members with Care Gaps/HEDIS related health conditions and assists them in accessing care through Plan benefits and community resources.  Under the direction of Clinical staff, the Care Connector will provide members with educational materials and carry out strategies to increase health care adherence and reduce barriers to care.

Work Arrangement: 

This position is a hybrid position.  Will be required to work in the D.C. office 4 days / week.   Located at 1201 Main Ave SW.   8-5:30 Monday  - Friday. 

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in healthcare setting:  OB/GYN or maternity care strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience in a health care environment, preferably in maternity or pediatrics. Prior behavioral health experience preferred.
• Prior member service or customer service telephone experience desired, preferably within a managed care organization.
• Medical terminology, ICD, CPT and/or coding experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient PC skills in a Windows based environment including word processing, spreadsheets and database programs. 

The range displayed in this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries for the position in the Washington DC area. 
Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. 
AmeriHealth Caritas associates are eligible to participate in our annual incentive program and will also receive our benefits package, consisting of medical, vision, dental, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k), paid time off and more. 
The targeted hiring range for this role is expected to be between $52,400.00 and $71,500.00 (or $25.19 per hour and $34.38 per hour).
