Description

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's computer networks while ensuring data integrity, security, and service availability. This role involves comprehensive network performance optimization, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing strategic network upgrades.
Key responsibilities include monitoring network performance, conducting routine maintenance, implementing robust security protocols, and providing technical support for network-related issues. The position requires collaboration with various IT teams to enhance organizational productivity and ensure seamless user experiences.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate network documentation, creating network diagrams, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with vendors for equipment procurement and support. This role demands both independent work capability and strong collaborative skills in a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

  • Network Design & Implementation: Ability to design and implement scalable computer networks, install and configure network hardware/software components.
  • Layer 2/3 Protocol Expertise: Strong knowledge of HSRP, Spanning Tree, VPC, and DNS protocols
  • Dynamic Routing: Experience designing and implementing BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF routing solutions
  • Switch Management: Proficiency configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Aruba, and FortiNet switches
  • Firewall Administration: Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Sonicwall firewalls
  • Wireless Network Management: Experience with Meraki and Ubiquiti wireless solutions
  • Network Security: Ability to implement and maintain network security protocols, monitor traffic, and conduct security audits
  • Troubleshooting: Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues
  • Technical Communication: Strong ability to convey technical information to non-technical users
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate network documentation, configurations, and procedures
  • Understanding monitoring and alerting with Auvik
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN.
  • CCNA certification required
  • Routing Platforms - Cisco ISR, ASR, CSR, Arista
  • Switching Platforms - Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Meraki, Aruba and Arista
  • Wireless Platforms - Meraki, Cisco, Aruba
  • Knowledge of Network Security, VPN, ACL, DMVPN, IPSEC, NAC, MAB, DOT1X, and Encryption Standards.
  • Security Platforms –Fortigate/Fortimanager, Palo Alto/Panorama
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud Networking, Fundamentals, and Security best practices: Public (Azure) and Private (Kubernetes) Cloud Technologies.
  • Knowledge of Azure architectural principles and key networking services such as MS Azure VNET, VNET-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, Express Route
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to identify, deploy, and manage complex networking systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Where You'll Work

Moser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. This position will require a hybrid/onsite work schedule out of our downtown Indianapolis office.
