OVERVIEW ::

Responsible along with the manager for the day to day managing of Feed Mill operations. Supervising, training of employees, inventory controls, safety, production scheduling and maintenance. Ensures that compliance is being met with FDA and Government regulatory agencies pertaining to feed manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
  • Supervises and coordinates new chemicals being approved by furnishing labels, SDS sheets and product request form for chemical evaluation.
  • Provide leadership, development, and supervision for clerical, dispatch, feed mill, and delivery employees.
  • Monitor and manage the ingredient receiving, ingredient and feed inventories, and feed manufacturing processes and associated quality control programs.
  • Communicate daily with staff to ensure that all production and delivery schedules are met and establish plans for efficient and effective ongoing feed manufacturing and delivery processes.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure the company’s assets and inventory are safe and secure
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and advocate a safe work environment
  • Participate in Safety Committee and conduct monthly department safety meetings
  • Ensure that staff is trained to perform duties in a safe, efficient manner
  • Responsible for mill cleanliness, appearance and ground maintenance
  • Attain a thorough understanding of all automation & mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Prepare reports pertaining to ingredients, manufacturing, inventory and usage
  • Offer and implement plans to improve efficiency and control costs; responsible for understanding and justifying all feed manufacturing and delivery expenses
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
  • Input all changes to feed formulas as required
  • Schedule all staff and manage employee time off requests
  • Maintains good quality control program by accurate sampling procedures.
  • Keeps accurate records on mill production and delivery.
  • Monitors cost records and performance data to analyze the effectiveness of milling delivery practices.
  • Directs quality maintenance programs for equipment and vehicles.
  • Coordinates raw materials delivery with appropriate personnel.
  • Comply with all DOT safety rules and regulations, all company policies, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS ::
  • Previous exposure to Live Production operations is preferred.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of safety protocols are essential.
  • Prior Experience in Feed Mill Operations is a must, candidate will have at least 2 years of management experience at a Feed Mill Operations, preferably in Poultry.
  • Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of low cost, high efficiency manufacturing, delivery, and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to manage and act in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to adapt time and efforts to priority areas.
  • Display a high level of professionalism and a customer service mindset.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to operations, dispatch, and trucking staff.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Use teamwork to promote excellence.
  • Must maintain high degree of accessibility to staff and customers. Will require periodic evening and weekend work.
