POSITION OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT
TYPE: Technology Specialist (12-month)
Full-time, permanent position
START: Immediately
LOCATION: LCTI, 4500 Education Park Drive, Schnecksville, PA 18078
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare, install, and configure personal computer hardware, peripherals, software, and audio-visual equipment
2. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain personal computer hardware, peripherals, software, and audio-visual equipment
3. Assist users with the proper use of hardware and software
4. Utilize trouble ticketing system to field user requests, resolve issues, and document progress
5. Contact vendor technical support and order spare/replacement parts as necessary
6. Work with vendors to resolve in-warranty issues and equipment exchanges/returns
7. Monitor and combat computer virus and malware attacks as necessary
8. Install and terminate network cables per IEEE standards
9. Utilize proper procedures to record movement of assets
10. Work closely with the Technology team to provide end-user support and issue resolution
11. Utilize LCTI students to assist when necessary; direct, monitor, and evaluate their performance
12. Able to provide support in virtual and hybrid environment
13. Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures related to job functions
14. Assist with maintaining computer inventory
15. Attend and actively participate in meetings
16. Coordinate with the rest of the IT team to meet the team objectives
17. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies related to job functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associates degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent related professional experience.
2. Minimum of two (2) years in support of PC workstations, software, and peripherals in a local and wide area network environment preferred
3. Experience working in an academic environment, preferred.
4. Good grooming, communication skills, phone skills, customer service skills, and a pleasant demeanor.
5. Ability to install and troubleshoot commercial software applications
6. Experience with Windows 10 and earlier, Mac OS, Chromium, Android, and Linux preferred
7. Basic knowledge of Ethernet network architecture and operation
8. Ability to read and understand technical documentation
9. Confident in being able to demonstrate/explain/teach end users the proper operation of hardware and software
10. Must be able to follow directions, think and work independently, and as part of a team
11. Ability to work with outside vendors as necessary
12. Demonstrates organizational skills and time management skills, providing for productivity, accuracy, and attention to detail in the carrying out of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
13. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize assigned tasks.
14. Capable of working effectively in an extremely fast paced, high pressure, constantly changing environment
15. A+, Net+ certification or equivalent experience preferred; Microsoft certification a plus
