Position Title: Assistant Swim Coach
Reports To: Swim & Dive Head Coach and Athletic Director
Location: Bryan Middle/High School, 1000 W. Fountain Grove Drive, Bryan, Ohio 43506

Position Summary

• Support the Head Swim & Dive Coach in all aspects of the program, including training, meet preparation, and athlete development.
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented environment that promotes student-athlete growth in and out of the pool.
• Assist in teaching proper techniques, strategies, and safety practices for both swimming and diving.
• Serve as a role model for student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting daily practices for both swimming and diving.
• Provide individual and group instruction to improve technique, endurance, and performance.
• Support meet-day operations, including lineup preparation, athlete warm-ups, and event management.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to track athlete progress and performance.
• Help coordinate team communication with athletes, parents, and staff.
• Ensure a safe practice and competition environment by enforcing safety rules and monitoring facilities.
• Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and inventory.
• Promote a culture of academic accountability and positive behavior.
• Represent the program and school with professionalism in all community interactions.

Season Schedule

• Seasonal, part-time position following the middle school athletioc calendar (typically late October through mid-February).
• Practices held before and after school based on pool availability; meets are held during the week or on weekend.
