Family Medicine Physician - Vermilion at Alberta Health Services

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Family Medicine Physician with recent and relevant training and experience for a full-time Family Medicine practice in Vermilion.  The scope of practice includes admission and daily attendance to Acute Care inpatient, outpatient, admission and attendance to long term care as well as community clinical work.  The successful candidate will additionally be required to cover shifts and on-call in the local rural emergency room as the sole physician available.  

Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

 Required Competencies:

• A successful candidate will hold valid and relevant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
• Recent experience (within the last 12 months) of independent Family Medicine practice where the physician has been the most responsible physician for a wide range of Family Medicine patients
• Emergency on-call experience (within last 24 months)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Desired Competencies:

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
